The Overdose Prevention Center is the first state-sanctioned center of its kind in the United States. Its operation is funded by opioid settlement bonds and its existence is protected by state law.

The center, located at 45 Willard Ave. in Providence, prevents overdose deaths and provides critically needed services, including trained staff to monitor for the earliest signs of overdose and respond to prevent overdose death and save lives.
